Computation and Estimation (CE)
- 3.CE.1 Estimate, solve, and justify single- and multistep addition and subtraction problems with numbers up to 1,000.
- Decide whether an estimate or an exact answer suits a problem, and justify.
- Estimate sums and differences using rounding, compatible numbers, or other relationships.
- Compute sums and differences using place value, properties, and the standard algorithm.
- Use the correct symbol to show expressions are equal or not equal.
- Represent, solve, and justify contextual addition and subtraction problems up to 1,000.
- 3.CE.2 Recall multiplication and division facts through 10 × 10 and solve single-step contextual problems.
- Represent multiplication and division through 10 × 10 with varied models and approaches.
- Use inverse relationships to write related multiplication and division facts.
- Apply place value and properties when multiplying and dividing whole numbers.
- Use reasoning strategies (e.g. doubling, near squares) to build fluency with facts through 10 × 10.
- Represent, solve, and justify single-step contextual multiplication and division problems.
- Recall multiplication facts through 10 × 10 and matching division facts automatically.
- Write equations showing equivalent expressions using multiplication or division facts.
Measurement and Geometry (MG)
- 3.MG.1 Estimate and measure length, weight/mass, and liquid volume in U.S. Customary and metric units.
- Justify whether an estimate or exact measure is needed and choose a suitable unit.
- Estimate and measure length, weight/mass, and liquid volume to the nearest specified unit.
- Compare estimates with actual measurements.
- 3.MG.2 Use multiple representations to estimate and solve area and perimeter problems.
- Find area by counting square units and describe the measurement.
- Find the perimeter of polygons with up to six sides by measuring or adding side lengths.
- 3.MG.3 Tell time to the nearest minute and solve elapsed-time problems in one-hour increments.
- Tell and write time to the nearest minute on analog and digital clocks.
- Match written times to analog and digital clock displays.
- Solve whole-hour elapsed-time problems within 12 hours, finding the start, end, or elapsed time.
- 3.MG.4 Identify, describe, classify, compare, combine, and subdivide polygons.
- Describe a polygon as a closed plane figure of non-crossing line segments.
- Classify figures as polygons or non-polygons and justify reasoning.
- Identify triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and octagons in any orientation.
- Find and name polygons in the environment.
- Classify and compare polygons by their characteristics.
- Combine up to three triangles or quadrilaterals and name the resulting polygon.

Probability and Statistics (PS)
- 3.PS.1 Apply the data cycle with pictographs and bar graphs.
- Formulate questions that require collecting or acquiring data.
- Determine needed data and collect it (30 or fewer data points, eight or fewer categories).
- Organize data in pictographs with title, labeled axes, and key (each symbol 1, 2, 5, or 10).
- Organize data in bar graphs with title, labeled axes, and a suitable scale.
- Analyze graphs: describe data, infer, conclude, predict, and solve one- and two-step problems.
Patterns, Functions, and Algebra (PFA)
- 3.PFA.1 Identify, describe, extend, and create increasing and decreasing patterns using addition and subtraction.
- Identify and describe patterns using objects, pictures, numbers, and number lines.
- Generalize the change to extend a pattern or find missing terms.
