Cookies and local storage

Last updated: 20 October 2026

The short version

  • Our own code sets no cookies and has no analytics.
  • Your browser's local storage keeps your lesson plans, class lists and settings so they're there next time. It never leaves your device.
  • Google's ads and consent message use cookies. In the UK, the EU and Switzerland, advertising cookies are only used if you agree.
  • Change your choice at any time with Privacy and cookie settings at the bottom of every page.

What are cookies and local storage?

Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to keep; they can be read again later, sometimes by other companies. Local storage is a similar space in your browser where a website saves information for itself. Unlike cookies, it is not sent to the website's server.

What Classfern – Lesson Planner stores on your device

Cookies used by Google

No other cookies

We haven't added analytics, social media buttons or tracking pixels, and there are no logins, so there are no login cookies.

How to change your choices or clear storage

  • Change your ad choices: use Privacy and cookie settings at the bottom of any page.
  • Turn off personalised ads from Google everywhere: Google's Ads Settings.
  • Clear local storage: in your browser's settings, delete site data for lessonplanner.info. This deletes your saved lesson plans and class lists, so download a backup first (My plans, then Download backup).
  • Block cookies: every tool still works.

The rules

In the UK, cookies and local storage are covered by PECR, as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025; in the EU by the ePrivacy Directive. Storage that is strictly necessary for a feature you use, or that only remembers your choices, doesn't need consent. Advertising cookies do. See our privacy policy.
