The standards (our summaries)
Wisconsin's official codes with our own short summaries (not the official wording). Each code links to the official document.
Ratios and Proportional Relationships (7.RP)
- M.7.RP.A.1 Compute unit rates with ratios of fractions, including lengths, areas and other quantities.
- M.7.RP.A.2 Recognize and represent proportional relationships.
- M.7.RP.A.3 Use proportional relationships for multistep ratio and percent problems such as tax, interest and markups.
The Number System (7.NS)
- M.7.NS.A.1 Add and subtract rational numbers and show them on a number line.
- M.7.NS.A.2 Multiply and divide rational numbers.
- M.7.NS.A.3 Solve real-world problems with the four operations on rational numbers.
Expressions and Equations (7.EE)
- M.7.EE.A.1 Use properties of operations to add, subtract, factor and expand linear expressions with rational coefficients.
- M.7.EE.A.2 Understand that rewriting an expression can show how quantities in a problem relate.
- M.7.EE.B.3 Solve multistep problems with rational numbers in any form, using tools strategically and checking by estimation.
- M.7.EE.B.4 Use variables to write and solve simple equations and inequalities for problems.
Geometry (7.G)
- M.7.G.A.1 Solve problems with scale drawings, finding actual lengths and areas and redrawing at another scale.
- M.7.G.A.2 Draw shapes with given conditions, focusing on when three measures give a unique triangle.
- M.7.G.A.3 Describe the 2D figures made by slicing prisms and pyramids parallel to the base.
- M.7.G.B.4 Know and use circle area and circumference formulas and informally relate them.
- M.7.G.B.5 Use supplementary, complementary, vertical and adjacent angles to write and solve equations for unknown angles.
- M.7.G.B.6 Solve problems with area, volume and surface area of objects made of polygons, cubes and right prisms.
Statistics and Probability (7.SP)
- M.7.SP.A.1 Understand that samples give information about populations when representative, and that random sampling supports valid inference.
- M.7.SP.A.2 Use random samples to draw inferences and use repeated samples to see how estimates vary.
- M.7.SP.B.3 Judge the overlap of two data distributions, expressing the difference in centers as a multiple of variability.
- M.7.SP.B.4 Use center and variability from random samples to compare two populations informally.
- M.7.SP.C.5 Understand probability as a number from 0 to 1 showing how likely an event is.
- M.7.SP.C.6 Estimate probability from long-run relative frequency and predict frequency from probability.
- M.7.SP.C.7 Develop probability models, compare them with observed frequencies and explain differences.
- M.7.SP.C.8 Find probabilities of compound events with lists, tables, tree diagrams and simulation.
