The standards (our summaries)
Oregon's official codes with our own short summaries (not the official wording). Each code links to the official document.
Algebraic Reasoning: Operations (OA)
- 3.OA.A.1 Show a product of two factors as equal groups, i.e. repeated addition.
- 3.OA.A.2 Show whole-number division as sharing a quantity into equal-sized groups.
- 3.OA.A.3 Solve real problems with multiplication and division within 100 about groups, arrays or measurements.
- 3.OA.A.4 Work out the unknown in a multiplication or division equation with three numbers, using inverse operations.
- 3.OA.B.5 Use the properties of operations to help multiply and divide.
- 3.OA.B.6 See division as finding a missing factor.
- 3.OA.C.7 Multiply and divide within 100 fluently with flexible strategies based on place value and properties.
- 3.OA.D.8 Solve two-step real problems with all four operations, using a letter for the unknown.
- 3.OA.D.9 Find and explain number patterns, including in addition and multiplication tables, using properties.
Numeric Reasoning: Base Ten Arithmetic (NBT)
- 3.NBT.A.1 Use place value to round whole numbers up to 1,000 to the closest ten or hundred.
- 3.NBT.A.2 Add and subtract within 1,000 fluently with flexible strategies and algorithms based on place value.
- 3.NBT.A.3 Multiply a one-digit number by a multiple of 10 from 10 to 90 with place value strategies.
Numeric Reasoning: Fractions (NF)
Geometric Reasoning and Measurement (GM)
- 3.GM.A.1 See that shapes in different groups can share features, and that shared features can define a bigger group.
- 3.GM.A.2 Divide shapes into equal-area parts and name each part's share of the whole as a unit fraction.
- 3.GM.B.3 Read, write and measure time to the minute and solve problems adding or subtracting lengths of time.
- 3.GM.B.4 Measure, estimate and solve problems on liquid volume and mass in grams, kilograms and liters.
- 3.GM.C.5 Understand area as a property of flat shapes, measured by covering with and counting unit squares.
- 3.GM.C.6 Find area by counting unit squares in standard and non-standard units.
- 3.GM.C.7 Link area to multiplying and adding and use models to solve real problems.
- 3.GM.D.8 Solve real problems about the perimeter of polygons.
