The standards (our summaries)

Oregon's official codes with our own short summaries (not the official wording). Each code links to the official document.

Algebraic Reasoning: Operations (OA)

  • 2.OA.A.1 Solve one- and two-step real problems within 100 with drawings and equations that use a symbol for the unknown.
  • 2.OA.B.2 Add and subtract within 20 fluently with accurate, efficient, flexible strategies based on place value and properties.
  • 2.OA.C.3 Tell whether a group of up to 20 objects has an odd or even count, and show even numbers as doubles (equal addends).
  • 2.OA.C.4 Find the total in arrays of up to 5 rows and 5 columns by adding, and write it as a sum of equal addends.

Numeric Reasoning: Base Ten Arithmetic (NBT)

  • 2.NBT.A.1 Understand 100 as ten tens and that a three-digit number's digits count hundreds, tens and ones.
  • 2.NBT.A.2 Count within 1,000 and skip-count by 5s, 10s and 100s.
  • 2.NBT.A.3 Read and write numbers to 1,000 as numerals, number names and in expanded form.
  • 2.NBT.A.4 Compare two three-digit numbers using hundreds, tens and ones, recording with >, = and <.
  • 2.NBT.B.5 Add and subtract within 100 fluently with accurate, efficient, flexible strategies based on place value and properties.
  • 2.NBT.B.6 Find the sum of as many as four 2-digit numbers and explain why two different strategies give the same total.
  • 2.NBT.B.7 Add and subtract within 1,000 with models and strategies, link them to a written method and explain regrouping.
  • 2.NBT.B.8 Find 10 or 100 more or less than a three-digit number in your head, without counting.
  • 2.NBT.B.9 Give reasons, based on properties and the link between the two operations, for why their adding and subtracting strategies work.

Geometric Reasoning and Measurement (GM)

  • 2.GM.A.1 Recognize and draw shapes with given features, such as a set number of angles or equal faces.
  • 2.GM.A.2 Divide a rectangle into a grid of equal squares and count how many there are.
  • 2.GM.A.3 Cut circles and rectangles into 2, 3 or 4 equal parts, knowing equal parts of one whole can differ in shape.
  • 2.GM.B.4 Choose and use suitable tools to measure an object's length.
  • 2.GM.B.5 Measure the same object with two different units and describe how the results relate to unit size.
  • 2.GM.B.6 Estimate lengths in inches, feet, yards, centimeters and meters.
  • 2.GM.B.7 Measure two objects and find the difference in their lengths in a standard unit.
  • 2.GM.C.8 Solve real length problems (same unit, within 100) by adding or subtracting.
  • 2.GM.C.9 Show whole-number lengths on a number line and use it to find sums and differences within 100.
  • 2.GM.D.10 Read and write times to the nearest five minutes on analog and digital clocks, using a.m. and p.m.
  • 2.GM.D.11 Solve real problems with dollar bills and coins, using the $ and ¢ symbols correctly.

Data Reasoning (DR)

  • 2.DR.A.1 Ask classroom questions and collect or look at data from whole-number measurements to answer them.
  • 2.DR.B.2 Study data shown with a single-unit scale and interpret it to answer the questions asked.
