The standards (our summaries)

North Dakota's official codes with our own short summaries (not the official wording). Each code links to the official document.

Number and Operations (NO)

  • 7.NO.NS.1 Describe absolute value as distance from zero on a number line and use its notation.
  • 7.NO.NS.2 Recognize common fraction and decimal equivalents with denominators up to 10.
  • 7.NO.O.1 Add, subtract, multiply and divide integers in multi-step problems using models and properties.
  • 7.NO.O.2 Use all four operations with nonnegative fractions in multi-step problems.
  • 7.NO.O.3 Add, subtract, multiply and divide nonnegative decimals to hundredths in multi-step problems.

Algebraic Reasoning (AR)

  • 7.AR.RP.1 Compute unit rates from ratios of rational numbers, such as lengths, areas and other measures.
  • 7.AR.RP.2 Analyze proportional relationships in graphs and tables, including the meaning of (0, 0) and (1, k).
  • 7.AR.RP.3 Identify the constant of proportionality in different forms and write equations y = kx.
  • 7.AR.RP.4 Use proportional relationships to solve multi-step ratio, percent and scale drawing problems.
  • 7.AR.EE.1 Combine, factor and expand linear expressions using the properties of operations.
  • 7.AR.EE.2 Write and solve two-step equations shaped like px + q = r or p(x + q) = r.
  • 7.AR.EE.3 Write, solve and graph one- and two-step inequalities and interpret solutions in context.

Geometry and Measurement (GM)

  • 7.GM.AV.1 Describe how circumference relates to diameter (pi) and use circle area and circumference formulas.
  • 7.GM.AV.2 Find polygon areas by splitting into rectangles and triangles and surface areas of prisms and pyramids from nets.
  • 7.GM.AV.3 Solve volume problems for prisms and composite solids whose bases can be split up.
  • 7.GM.GF.1 Draw triangles from given conditions and decide if one, many or no triangles are possible.
  • 7.GM.GF.2 Describe supplementary, complementary, vertical and adjacent angles and solve for unknown angles.

Data, Probability and Statistics (DPS)

  • 7.DPS.D.1 Identify strengths, weaknesses and bias in samples and data collection.
  • 7.DPS.D.2 Draw inferences about a population from random samples using measures of center and variability.
  • 7.DPS.P.1 Build a probability model for events and compare it with experimental results.
  • 7.DPS.P.2 Build probability models for independent compound events using lists, tree diagrams, area models or simulations.
