Tutor Session Log

A free log for lessons with a tutor: the date, hours, what was covered, how it went and the next steps, plus a term summary. The tutor fills in a line after each session, so their teaching counts in your child's records and report card.

Type straight onto the page. It saves in this browser only and is never sent anywhere. Don't enter students' personal details.

Why log tutoring sessions?

A tutor may teach a whole subject, so their lessons are part of your child's education. A short line after each session means you always know what was covered, the hours go into your attendance and hours log, and the term summary gives you comments for the report card.

How to use it

  1. Use one log per tutor and subject.
  2. Ask the tutor to fill in a line at the end of each session and add their initials.
  3. At the end of the term, fill in the summary page together and add the tutor's comments to the report card.

Choosing and working with a tutor

  • Agree goals at the start and review them each term.
  • Ask for references, and decide what background checks you want.
  • Stay nearby or in the same room for sessions with younger children, and for online sessions.

Private and free

Everything you type is saved in this browser on this device. There is no account and nothing is uploaded. Clearing your browser data deletes it, so print or download Word copies of anything you want to keep.

Frequently asked questions

Can tutoring count as homeschool hours?

Usually you can count time your child spends learning with a tutor. Check your state's requirements if it sets days or hours.

Does the tutor need to sign the log?

It is a good habit. Initials after each session and a signature on the term summary show the record is accurate.
