- Seating Planner Pro (live now) – drag and drop, seating rules (keep apart, sit together, near the front), “Arrange, keeping the rules”, exam layouts, several plans for each class, and projector and print views.
- Class Screen Pro (live now) – a saved screen for each class, “Away today”, a fair name picker that remembers all day, groups from your seating plan, lesson steps that start the timer, and a voice-level panel.
- The Classfern desktop app (live now) – open the Menu and choose “Install Classfern as an app”. Once it’s installed, the tools and templates work offline. The UK app opens at the UK home page.

Here's what's new in Classfern Pro this month. Two new classroom tools. The new Classfern desktop app. And a quick look at what's coming soon.
First, Seating Planner Pro. Drag pupils between seats, with a mouse or your finger. Add rules. Keep apart. Sit together. Near the front. Near the door. Then press “Arrange, keeping the rules”. You get a fresh plan that keeps every one. If a rule can't be kept, it tells you why, in plain English. There are layouts for rows, pairs, groups, a horseshoe, and spaced exam desks. And you can keep several plans for each class.
Show the plan on the board. Print it with a seat list. Or download a backup, to move it to another computer. Your free seating plans come across automatically.
Next, Class Screen Pro. Save a screen for each class. A starter. Group work. A plenary. Tick who's away today, and the name picker and groups skip them. The picker is fair. No repeats until everyone has had a turn. And it remembers all day, even after a reload. Groups can be random and balanced. Or taken straight from the tables on your Pro seating plan.
Add lesson steps with times. Tap a step, and the timer is set and started. There's a voice-level panel, a noise meter, and big-text instructions. And Present mode fits it all on one projector screen.
Both tools keep your class lists in your own browser. So names never reach our server. And our free pages now come from Cloudflare. In our tests, that's about thirty to forty-five milliseconds. Down from about a hundred and sixty.
New today: the Classfern desktop app. Open the menu, and choose “Install Classfern as an app”. Once it's installed, the tools and templates work offline. When there's an update, a gentle notice asks you to refresh when you're ready. It never reloads in the middle of a lesson.
Founder offer. The first five hundred members pay thirty pounds when they join. They get their second year free. Then it's thirty pounds a year.
Coming soon. Sharing your own lessons with other members. Every lesson is reviewed before it's published. And Classroom, for setting work and tests. New for home educators: Classfern Family, a separate plan for home-educating families. Find it at lessonplanner.info.
