How do I set up the Class Screen with a timer, name picker and instructions?
Open the Class Screen and switch panels on or off: Timer, Name picker, Noise meter, Groups, Clock and Instructions. Your layout and instructions are remembered in this browser.
Step by step
- Open the Class Screen.
- Use the panel buttons along the top to show or hide each panel.
- Move panels left or right with the arrow buttons on each panel.
- Type your instructions in the Instructions panel.
- Press Full screen for the board. Reset layout puts everything back.
Questions and fixes
Full screen doesn’t work on my iPhone
iPhones don’t let web pages go truly full screen. The tool fills the browser window instead. Turn the phone sideways and use the browser’s reader or zoom options for more room. On an iPad, full screen works in recent versions of Safari.
It can’t use my microphone
Your browser asks for permission the first time. If you pressed Block, click the padlock or settings icon at the left of the address bar, set Microphone to Allow and reload the page. Also check your device’s privacy settings allow your browser to use the microphone, and close other apps (such as Teams or Zoom) that might be using it.
My work has gone, or isn’t there on another computer
Your Class Screen layout is saved in this browser on this device only – nothing is stored with us, so we can’t get it back for you. It won’t appear in a different browser, on another device, or in a private (incognito) window, and clearing your browser’s history or “site data” deletes it. Some school computers clear everything when you log off.
