The standards (our summaries)

Oklahoma's official codes with our own short summaries (not the official wording). Each code links to the official document.

Reasoning & Logic (G.RL)

  • Use tools and logical reasoning, including algebra, to judge mathematical arguments.
    • G.RL.1.1 Use undefined terms, definitions, postulates, and theorems in proofs.
    • G.RL.1.2 Reach conclusions by inductive and deductive reasoning and relate a conditional to its converse, inverse, and contrapositive.
    • G.RL.1.3 Judge whether an argument is valid and disprove statements with counterexamples.

Two-Dimensional Shapes (G.2D)

  • Analyze how lines, angles, and polygons relate and present proofs clearly.
    • G.2D.1.1 Find relationships between angles formed when a transversal crosses parallel lines.
    • G.2D.1.2 Use angle relationships and proofs to decide whether lines are parallel.
    • G.2D.1.3 Use angle properties to solve problems and write proofs.
    • G.2D.1.4 Use the interior and exterior angle sum theorems for polygons.
    • G.2D.1.5 Use properties of special quadrilaterals to find angles and segment lengths.
    • G.2D.1.6 Use coordinates to find segment lengths, midpoints, and slopes.
    • G.2D.1.7 Use polygon properties to find perimeter and area, including composite figures.
    • G.2D.1.8 Use properties of congruent and similar polygons to solve problems.
    • G.2D.1.9 Write logical proofs of triangle congruence with SSS, SAS, ASA, AAS, and HL.
    • G.2D.1.10 Write logical proofs of triangle similarity with AA, SSS, and SAS.
    • G.2D.1.11 Use algebraic rules for transformations and identify symmetry on the coordinate plane.

Three-Dimensional Shapes (G.3D)

  • Solve real-world and math problems with solid figures.
    • G.3D.1.1 Find surface area and volume of prisms, cylinders, pyramids, cones, spheres, and composite solids.
    • G.3D.1.2 Use ratios between similar solids to find unknown values and make conjectures.

Circles (G.C)

  • Solve real-world and math problems with properties of circles.
    • G.C.1.1 Find circumference and area of circles, exactly and approximately.
    • G.C.1.2 Write the standard-form equation of a circle from its center and radius.
    • G.C.1.3 Use relationships between angles, arcs, radii, chords, secants, and tangents.

Right Triangle Trigonometry (G.RT)

  • Use right triangle relationships and trigonometric ratios to solve problems.
    • G.RT.1.1 Use the distance formula, the Pythagorean theorem, and its converse, including Pythagorean triples.
    • G.RT.1.2 Check and use properties of 45-45-90 and 30-60-90 triangles.
    • G.RT.1.3 Define sine, cosine, and tangent and use inverse trig functions to find acute angles.
    • G.RT.1.4 Find side lengths of right triangles with trig ratios, including on the coordinate plane.
