The standards (our summaries)
Montana's official codes with our own short summaries (not the official wording). Each code links to the official document.
Ratios and Proportional Relationships (RP)
- MT.7.RP.1 Find unit rates from ratios of fractions, in like or different units.
- MT.7.RP.2 Recognize proportional relationships in tables, graphs and equations and find the constant of proportionality.
- MT.7.RP.3 Use proportional reasoning for multistep ratio and percent problems such as interest, tax, markups, discounts, tips and percent change.
The Number System (NS)
Expressions and Equations (EE)
- MT.7.EE.1 Apply operation properties to combine, factor and expand linear expressions that have rational coefficients.
- MT.7.EE.2 Understand that rewriting an expression in other forms can show how quantities in a context relate.
- MT.7.EE.3 Write and solve equations of one or two steps with rational numbers, converting forms and checking if answers make sense.
- MT.7.EE.4 Write and solve equations and inequalities from problems in context, compare methods and graph inequality solutions.
Geometry (G)
- MT.7.G.1 Solve scale drawing problems by finding real lengths and areas and redrawing at another scale.
- MT.7.G.2 Draw shapes from given conditions and decide whether measures make one, more than one or no triangle.
- MT.7.G.3 Use circle area and circumference formulas and explain informally how they relate.
- MT.7.G.4 Use supplementary, complementary, vertical and adjacent angles to write equations for unknown angles.
- MT.7.G.5 Solve area, volume and surface-area problems for shapes built from triangles, quadrilaterals, other polygons, cubes and right prisms.
Statistics and Probability (SP)
- MT.7.SP.1 Use statistics from a representative sample to learn about a population.
- MT.7.SP.2 Use random samples to make inferences about a population and simulate samples to judge variation.
- MT.7.SP.3 Compare the centers and variability of two data distributions visually.
- MT.7.SP.4 Use measures of center and variability from random samples to compare two populations.
- MT.7.SP.5 Understand probability as a number from 0 to 1 showing how likely an event is.
- MT.7.SP.6 Find experimental probability from collected data and long-run relative frequency.
- MT.7.SP.7 Build theoretical probability models, compare them with experimental results and explain differences.
- MT.7.SP.8 Show sample spaces for compound events and find probabilities with lists, tables, tree diagrams and simulations.
