Student progress tracker
One screen shows which students might need a check-in right now and the reason for each: below their goal, scores trending down, attendance slipping, missing assignments or repeated notes about support.

What it flags
A student is suggested only when there is a clear signal, and those with the most signals come first:
- Below target by a clear margin in the latest assessment (you set targets in the gradebook).
- Results dropping and staying lower across the last two assessments.
- Attendance below the level you choose (90% by default).
- Notes: three or more "needs support" or "homework missing" notes in the last four weeks.
- Missing marks: two or more for assessments that have already happened.
Reasons are written out with an icon, never shown by color alone. The tracker suggests; you decide.
Every student's year on one page
Each student's record shows a chart of every score over the year by subject, levels for each grading period, goals, effort and your quick notes. A class view shows averages per grading period and where grades are missing.
Private by design
All data stays in your browser. Use student numbers or first names; nothing is sent to our servers.
Then write the report cards
The same data writes each report card's grade table and subject comments with the comment generator in Classfern Pro. Need examples? See report card comments.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from a gradebook?
A gradebook stores scores. The tracker also looks across scores, goals, attendance and notes to suggest which students might need support, and explains why.
