    • K.N.1.2 Say how many objects are in a set of up to 10 using a number.
    • K.N.1.3 Use ordinal numbers to give an object's position, up to tenth.
    • K.N.1.4 Recognize small groups of up to 10 at a glance without counting, in any arrangement.
    • K.N.1.5 Count on from any number up to 20, with or without objects.
    • K.N.1.6 Read, write, talk about, and show whole numbers from 0 to at least 20.
    • K.N.1.7 Name the number that is one more or one less than a number up to 10.
    • K.N.1.8 Compare and order whole numbers 0–10 using more than, less than, and equal to.
  • Build early understanding of addition and subtraction within 10 with objects and pictures.
    • K.N.2.1 Take apart and put together numbers up to 10 using objects and pictures.
  • Explore whole numbers and fractions through fair sharing.
    • K.N.3.1 Share a set of objects into at least two smaller equal groups.

  • Copy and continue patterns in different contexts.
    • K.A.1.1 Sort up to 10 objects by attributes and say what the objects in each group have in common.
    • K.A.1.2 Recognize, complete, and extend repeating, growing, and shrinking patterns.

Geometry & Measurement (GM)

  • Recognize and sort basic flat shapes; use flat and solid shapes to stand for real objects.
    • K.GM.1.1 Recognize squares, circles, triangles, and rectangles.
    • K.GM.1.2 Sort flat shapes by attributes such as shape and size.
    • K.GM.1.3 Describe attributes of flat shapes using everyday and mathematical words.
    • K.GM.1.4 Fill the outline of a larger shape with smaller flat shapes.
    • K.GM.1.5 Build larger free-form structures from solid shapes.
    • K.GM.1.6 Use basic shapes and spatial reasoning to model real-world objects.
  • Compare and order objects by position and measurable attributes.
    • K.GM.2.1 Use words to compare objects by length, size, weight, position, and location.
    • K.GM.2.2 Put up to six objects in order by a measurable attribute such as length or weight.
    • K.GM.2.3 Find attributes that objects share and sort them into sets.
    • K.GM.2.4 Compare how many objects are needed to fill two different containers.
