Which States Use Common Core?

Math and English language arts standards in all 50 states and DC: Common Core as written, adapted and renamed, or the state's own.

Status values: as-is = uses CCSS text (possibly with small state additions, sometimes under a state name); adapted-renamed = state revised CCSS and publishes it under its own name; not-used = never adopted, or formally replaced by state-developed standards (content may still resemble CCSS). Compiled 2026-10-20 from ECS 'Common Core State Standards and Assessments' response (27 Feb 2020), the official CCSS 'Standards in Your State' page (which still cites a 2013 Achieve report), and state education agency pages whose titles/URLs were found today. Most state pages could not be opened in the browser (site permissions), so entries with confidence medium/low must be checked on the state site before publishing state-specific claims. Territories and DoDEA not covered.
