How to apply for a place
- England and Wales: in-year applications usually go through the local council’s school admissions team. Some schools – for example many academies, free schools and voluntary aided schools – handle their own, so check your council’s website first.
- Scotland: contact the council or your catchment school. You can make a placing request for a different school.
- Northern Ireland: contact the school or the Education Authority.
