About these tests
Free mental maths tests for Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. Each year has three 20-question tests plus a mixed practice that picks a new set every time. Questions cover number bonds, doubling and halving, multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1,000, place value, rounding, fractions of amounts, and short money and time problems, with square and cube numbers and percentages in Years 5 and 6. Each question is matched to a statement from the national curriculum in England for that year (or, where marked, an earlier year).
