OLSAT-style practice tests
Free OLSAT-style practice for grades 2–9: verbal, quantitative and figural reasoning puzzles with explanations. Not affiliated with Pearson.
These are practice puzzles, not an IQ test. A real IQ test is standardized and given by a qualified psychologist.
Scores are shown simply as the number right out of the number of questions (for example, 18 out of 25), with an explanation for every question. We never give an IQ number, a percentile or a label, and we never compare you with other people.

Our practice covers verbal analogies, verbal classification, antonyms, simple inference, figural classification, analogies, matrices and series, number series and number matrices. Sentence completion and arrangement, aural reasoning, following directions, arithmetic reasoning, logical selection, word/letter matrix, numeric inference and picture-based items for younger children are not included.
How to use these tests
- Each test picks 20–25 questions at random from a bank of 40 or more, so you can try again and get a different set. There is no time limit unless you choose one. Children aged 7–8 may like an adult to read the questions with them. Use the explanations at the end to learn the rule behind each puzzle.
