Bass clef landmarks

The two dots of the bass clef sit either side of line 4, which is F – that is why it is called the F clef. Middle C is one ledger line above the stave. A handy check: a bass clef note is two letters higher than the treble clef note in the same place (the bottom line is E in treble but G in bass).

Your turn

Watch and listen, then practise with new questions every time – reading questions, and writing tasks you answer on the stave. Take the check when you are ready: 80% passes the unit.
