Non-verbal reasoning practice tests
Free non-verbal reasoning practice for ages 7 to adult: shape sequences, odd one out, grids, rotations and codes, with an explanation for every answer.
These are practice puzzles, not an IQ test. A real IQ test is standardised and given by a qualified psychologist.
Scores are shown simply as the number right out of the number of questions (for example, 18 out of 25), with an explanation for every question. We never give an IQ number, a percentile or a label, and we never compare you with other people.

About these tests
Non-verbal reasoning puzzles use shapes instead of words: spot the pattern, find the odd one out, complete the grid, or imagine a shape turned or reflected. Our puzzles are drawn by our own generator. Answers are checked by computer programs, and every test is reviewed by an independent AI checker that didn't write it. Spot a mistake? Use the Report button.
How to use these tests
- Each test picks 20–25 questions at random from a bank of 40 or more, so you can try again and get a different set. There is no time limit unless you choose one. Children aged 7–8 may like an adult to read the questions with them. Use the explanations at the end to learn the rule behind each puzzle.
