How do I plan a whole unit or scheme of work?
Use the unit plan template for a unit, scope and sequence or pacing guide, or the UK scheme of work and medium-term planning templates. Then plan each lesson in the Lesson Plan Maker.
Step by step
- Open the unit plan template or a UK scheme of work template.
- Type the big ideas, outcomes and the sequence of lessons onto the page.
- For each lesson, open the Lesson Plan Maker, give it a date, and use Week view to see the sequence.
- Print all pages or download as Word to share with your team.
Questions and fixes
My work has gone, or isn’t there on another computer
What you type is saved in this browser on this device only – nothing is stored with us, so we can’t get it back for you. It won’t appear in a different browser, on another device, or in a private (incognito) window, and clearing your browser’s history or “site data” deletes it. Some school computers clear everything when you log off.
The printout is cut off or has the wrong margins
In the print window, set the scale to “Default” or “Fit to page”, keep margins on “Default”, and check the paper size (A4 in the UK, Letter in the US). Turning on “Background graphics” keeps coloured boxes and shading.
