How do I use the classroom timer on the board?
Pick a preset (1 to 30 minutes) or type minutes and seconds, then press Start. Choose a ring, bar or digits display, and go full screen for the board.
Step by step
- Open the classroom timer or the visual timer.
- Press a preset (1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 min), or set Minutes and Seconds.
- Press Start. Use Pause, Resume, +1 min and Reset as needed.
- Choose Ring and digits, Bar and digits or Digits only.
- Press the full-screen button for the board. A gentle chime plays at the end; switch it off with the sound button.
Questions and fixes
Does it keep time if I switch tabs?
Yes. The timer follows the clock rather than counting ticks, so it stays accurate when the tab is in the background or the computer is busy.
I can’t hear any sound
Check the tool’s sound button is on, your device isn’t muted and the volume is up. Browsers only play sound after you have clicked or tapped on the page at least once. On an iPhone, the silent switch can mute web pages.
Full screen doesn’t work on my iPhone
iPhones don’t let web pages go truly full screen. The tool fills the browser window instead. Turn the phone sideways and use the browser’s reader or zoom options for more room. On an iPad, full screen works in recent versions of Safari.
