How do I install the Classfern app on my computer, tablet or phone?
Press Get the app at the top of any page. If your browser can install Classfern, you’ll see an Install Classfern button; otherwise the page shows the steps for your device (Windows, Mac, Chromebook, iPhone, iPad or Android). It’s free and needs no account.
Step by step
- Press Get the app at the top of the page (on a phone it says App).
- If you see Install Classfern, press it and confirm. Classfern opens in its own window.
- No button? Follow the steps for your browser on that page: in Chrome or Edge use the install icon in the address bar; on a Mac in Safari choose File › Add to Dock; on iPhone or iPad tap Share › Add to Home Screen; on Android use the ⋮ menu › Install app.
- Open Classfern from the Start menu, Dock, launcher or home screen. The tools then work without the internet too.
Questions and fixes
I can’t see an install button
Some browsers don’t offer one. Firefox on a computer can’t install web apps: use Chrome or Microsoft Edge, or just bookmark the site. On iPhone and iPad, use Share › Add to Home Screen.
My lesson plans aren’t in the app
On iPhone, iPad and Safari on a Mac the app can keep its own storage. In the browser, open My plans › Download backup, then restore the file in the app.
How do I remove it?
Open the app’s menu and choose Uninstall (Chrome or Edge), drag it out of Applications (Mac), or press and hold the icon and remove it (iPhone, iPad, Android). Your saved work in the browser is not deleted.
