CogAT-style practice – Grades 2–3 (ages 7–8) – Test 1

CogAT-style practice – Grades 2–3 (ages 7–8) – Test 1: 20 questions, marked instantly with every answer explained. Free, no sign-up, no adverts in the test.

These are practice puzzles, not an IQ test. A real IQ test is standardized and given by a qualified psychologist.

Before you start

20 questions are picked at random from a bank of 44, so each try is different. There is no time limit. At the end you see your score and a short explanation for every question. Three kinds of puzzle, like the three CogAT batteries: verbal (word analogies, which word belongs), quantitative (number analogies, number puzzles, number series) and nonverbal (figure grids, which figure belongs). Sentence completion and paper folding are not included yet. Younger children may need an adult to read the questions.

  • 20 questions – a new mix each time you try
  • No time limit
  • Answers and explanations at the end

No sign-up and no adverts. Your answers stay on this device. Nothing you type in the test is sent to us – unless you choose to report a problem with a question.

Answers are checked by computer programs, and every test is reviewed by an independent AI checker that didn't write it. Spot a mistake? Use the Report button.
