What is Ask Fern, and how do I use it well?
Ask Fern is Classfern Pro’s AI helper for planning lessons, quizzes, worksheets and report comments, with links to the Classfern guides it used. It is being set up now and opens for members with Pro.
Step by step
- Log in to Pro and open Ask Fern.
- Say who you teach and what you need, for example “Year 5, 50-minute lesson on equivalent fractions with a starter and exit ticket”.
- Ask for changes: shorter, simpler words, more challenge, a UK or US version.
- Check everything before you use it – AI can make mistakes.
Questions and fixes
What must I never type into Ask Fern?
Pupils’ personal details: no names, photos, dates of birth, SEN or medical details. Write “Pupil A” instead. See the acceptable use of AI rules linked on the page.
